Hey Tigers! Welcome to the second edition of the Guess the Teacher column in the Tigertalk newspaper. Below is the transcript of an interview with one anonymous HCI teacher. Your job is to use your investigative and analytical skills to… Guess The Teacher!

Last edition's mystery teacher was Ms Garner-Pringle! Congrats to Abhisha Sakthievel, Damon, Mina Gorelick, Lily Stewart-Ward, Keilee Tseng, Joyce Chen, Nelson Caetano, Shelse Casimiro, Rowan Driver, Victoria C, The Mascot, and everyone else who guessed right!

Abhisha and Evan: What was your dream job as a child or high school student?

Mystery Teacher: “I really wanted to be a pediatrician when I was younger!”

Abhisha and Evan: What is one hobby you could never give up?

Mystery Teacher:  Forest bathing! Being in nature, going for hikes, and spending time with trees makes me really happy and calm.

Abhisha and Evan: How long have you worked at HCI?

Mystery Teacher:  This is my 7th year. That’s crazy to think about!

Abhisha and Evan: If you could be any animal, what would you be, and why?

Mystery Teacher:  An elephant, because they have matriarchal societies.

Abhisha and Evan: Where did you grow up?

Mystery Teacher:  Dundas, Ontario

Abhisha and Evan: What is one fun fact you like to tell people about yourself?

Mystery Teacher:  I studied art history in Paris for a summer after my third year of university! I also used to work on Parliament Hill.

Abhisha and Evan: How many people are in your family? Include pets!

Mystery Teacher:  4 humans, no pets! We were going to get a pet, but we found out one of my kids was allergic!

Abhisha and Evan: What was your favourite subject in school, and did it influence your career choice?

Mystery Teacher:  My favourite subject was English, and it definitely led me to my current career!

Abhisha and Evan: What is a unique talent or skill you have that not many people know about?

Mystery Teacher:  Gardening! I love to be hands-on in my garden.

Abhisha and Evan: If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

Mystery Teacher:  I would have dinner with Leonard Braithwaite because he used to go to HCI and he was the first Black MPP in Canada. It would be super interesting to hear about his experiences here.

You can submit your guess on Tigertalk’s Instagram poll on December 22th @hcitigertalk! The winners as well as the mystery teacher will be revealed and be featured in our next edition!

Your guess options for this edition are:

- Ms. McNeely

- Ms. Joseph

- Ms. Rowland

- Mme. Michael
